Alton Cemetery is located in the city of Alton, Madison County, Illinois. It is bound on the east by Pearl Street, on the south by East 5th Street, and on the west by Vine Street. The cemetery contains a half acre lot donated by the Alton Cemetery Association in 1940 to the federal government. Known as the Alton National Cemetery, it contains the graves of many Civil War soldiers.
