Affidavit of Administration

State of Missouri
County of St. Louis

This day, personally appeared before me the Clerk of the Probate Court for the County of St. Louis, the undersigned Margaretha Etling who, being by me duly sworn, upon her oath say that to the best of her knowledge there are the following named heirs of August Etling late of the County of St. Louis aforesaid deceased, now in being, to-wit:  this affiant widow of said deceased and

Augusta wife of John Muehlmann
Charlotte Eliza Etling
Eliza Margaretha Etling
George W. Etling
Louis August Etling
Emilie Margaretha Etling

children
of said
deceased
all residing
in St. Louis Co.

That the said deceased died on or about the 7th day of December 1876; that the estate of said deceased does not exceed the sum of Four Thousand Dollars in value as this affiant is informed and believes; that to the best of her knowledge, the said deceased died without a will, so far as she knows and believes; and that she will make a perfect inventory of and faithfully administer all the estate of the deceased ------------- ------------- and pay the debts as far as the assets will extend and the law direct, and account for and pay all assets which shall come to her possession or knowledge.

Probate Court documents show that George J. Gerber posted a security bond of $6,000; Eggert Arp, a bond of $500; and Charles Bruns, a bond of $2,000.
