Charlotte Caroline Christine (Brockmeyer) Gerber with her first three children: Charlotte M. Gerber, on the right; Louis A. Gerber, on the left; and Wilbert G. Gerber in his mother's arms.
The photo was taken about 1926 while the Gerbers were in Red Bud, Illinois, visiting with the Benzie family, who were good friends of Charlotte's sister, Mathilda H. (Brockmeyer) Meyers. It is very probable that Louis A. Gerber, Charlotte's husband, was the photographer.

Someone has written on the back of this photo "age 52." As Charlotte C. Gerber was born in 1891, that would mean this photo was taken about 1943, during WW II.
The photo was taken at the request of two of her sons, Louis and Wilbert, who were away from home serving in the US armed forces.
The dress in the photo is one which Charlotte purchased for the wedding of her elder daughter, Charlotte M. (Gerber) Krejci, who helped with the identification of this photo.
