This photograph accompanied a biographical sketch of Rev. L. H. Winter's early career in the German Methodist Episcopal Church. At the time, he was finishing his education at Central Wesleyan College at Warrenton, Missouri and at the same time serving a charge of three congregations in the St. Louis German Conference (St. Louis Deutschen Konferenz ).
