- [S4] Lieselotte (Freese) Fiegenbaum, Genealogical research, Letter of September 1981 to Jane (Fiegenbaum) Paget.
Johann Heinrich Fiegenbaum, born 6 July 1787 at Ladbergen, and Chatherina [sic] Elisabein [sic] Hagen, born 26 September 1786 at Ladbergen-Overbeck 16, were married in 1810 at Ladbergen.
Lieselotte wrote: "At the beginning he and his wife, neé Hagen, lived in the "Heuerhaus" on the ground of the farm Hagen and belonging to it at Ladbergen, Overbeck 16. "Heuerhaus" means: a smaller house which belongs to the main farm. To the Heuerhaus always belong a few acres. Normally people living at a "Heuerhaus" are tenant-farmers who pay rent partly in work.
"During the time the couple lived at Ladbergen-Overbeck their two daughters were born. Their only son was born at Ladbergen, Wester 21."
Later in her letter, Liselotte indicates that this couple had 5 children.

- [S135] Bill Roege, Ladbergen Genealogy Database (2nd draft edition; November 1999) (http://members.aol.com/WRoege/ladbergen.htm - last confirmed in March 2005).
Herman Heinrich Fiegenbaum and Catharina Elisabeth Hagen were married on 13 July 1810 at Ladbergen, Westphalia, Germany. Bill Roege included a note for this event: "husb (*6.7.1787), parents Herm Heinr Fiegenbaum & Anna Cath Horstmeier; wife (*26.9.1786), unmarried dau hlg Joh Heinr Hagan & Anna Elis Holtkamp."
I believe the note may be based on the marriage entry in the records of the church at Ladbergen. It should be noted that the date format starts with the day, followed by the month. This should be obvious with the birth date of the "wife" - 26.9.1786 is 26 September 1786. I am guessing that the letters "hlg" in the note stand for the German word Heuerling.
