Louis Henry Herman Winter, son of Henry Fredrick Christian Winter and Florentine Wilhelmine Fiegenbaum; born 13 August, 1876. Like all of Henry and Florentine's children, he was born on the family farm "in Camp Branch Township, near Truxton, Missouri" (page 3).

Louis Winter graduated "from Central Wesleyan College in Warrenton in 1904, and entered the Methodist ministry, which was his life's work, and his first appointment was at Bem, Missouri." He served churches in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Arkansas and Kansas.

Mother's maiden name: Florentine Luelf. Died at 4:00 p.m. on 23 February 1951 at Montgomery City, Montgomery County, Missouri at the age of 74 years, 6 months, 10 days. His usual residence was Montgomery City, Montgomery County, Missouri. He was married at the time of death to Allavine [sic] Winter. He was a retired clergyman; had never served in the U.S. armed forces; had no social security number. Cause of death was a "cerebral thrombosis" of 2 weeks duration. Antecedent causes were "myocardial degeneration" of 10 years duration and "chronic parenchymatous nephritis" of 10 years duration. Burial was to be 26 February 1951 at Zion Cemetery at Truxton, Missouri. Schlanker Mortuary, of Montgomery City, Missouri was the undertaker. Personal information was provided by Mrs. E. F. Bebermeyer of Centralia , Missouri. [Attalan?] Arsdale, Montgomery City, had attended the deceased from 2 December 1950 to 23 February 1951 and signed the death certificate on 24 February 1951. Received by the local registrar on 26 February 1951.

Winter and Miss Florentine Fiegenbaum were united in holy matrimony and immediately went to housekeeping on a farm in Camp Branch Township, near Truxton, Missouri, which he had acquired before they were married." Alvina states that all nine of Henry and Florentine's children were born on this farm.

An application for license to marry (number 84, page 288) filed on 7 November 1904 by Louis H. H. Winter, age 28, of Warren County, Missouri, for himself and Miss Allovine [sic] A. Luelf, age 26, of Warren County, Missouri. The recorder also spelled the future bride's surname "Lulfe."
A marriage license issued at Warrenton, Warren County, Missouri on 7 November 1904 to Louis H. H. Winter, of Truxton, Lincoln County, Missouri, who was over the age of 21 years and Miss. Allovine A. Luelf, of Truxton, Lincoln County, Missouri, who was over the age of 18 years.
The return certified that William Wilkening, Pastor, "a minister of the Gospel" did marry the above name persons at New Truxton, Warren County, on 9 November 1904. The Certificate of Marriage was filed with the Recorder of Deeds on 14 November 1904.
