"[Conrad H. Begeman] was married in Germany to Caroline Poupe, and soon thereafter started with his bride for the United States." They arrived at the port of New Orleans and traveled up the Mississippi River to St. Louis. They passed on "to Warren County, where they located on the Missouri River, just south of Warrenton." Conrad purchased and occupied 40 acres of land there for three years.

Caroline and her husband Conrad H. Begemann, settled on 40 acres of land on the Missouri River south of Warrenton, in Warren County, Missouri. Caroline died here of cholera.
