           Mena Hanke household, 1900 U.S. census, Lincoln County, Missouri, population schedule, Prairie Township, Supervisor’s District 9, Enumeration District 55, sheet 5 A, enumerated 12 June 1900, dwelling 88, family 88, lines 38-42. Mena Hanke; widow; married 11 years; mother of 6 children (3 still living). Given that the eldest child in the household at the time of the enumeration was 10 years of age and Mena was reported to have been married for 11 years, it is possible that she was married about 1888-1889; this speculation requires confirmation. In the 1910 U. S. Census, Mena was identified as the mother of 3 children, 3 of whom were still alive.
