Robert reported that he was a structural draftsman at Electric Wheel Company, at Quincy, Illinois. The Registrar of the local draft board, W. B. Sheltz, described Robert as a man of tall height and slender build; with grey eyes and light hair. There were no physical characteristics that would disqualify Robert for military service.
           At some point, the address in Quincy, Illinois was crossed out and a new address was written along the entire right-hand margin of that side of the registration card: 35 N Halliday Ave, St Louis, Mo.
