The leading cause of death was "pulmonary embolus." Other contributory causes were "post operative cholecystectomy & appendectomy." There had been an operation for gall stones. Dr. W. W. Greene had attended Henry from 1 January to 9 January 1950. Henry's older brother, Herman F. Nolte, died in 1935 at the age of 40 years under almost identical circumstances.
