According to the enumeration, the household consisted of: Fredrick Winter, age 63, male, farmer, born in Germany; Rena Winter, age 29, female, born in Germany; Earnnst Winter, age 15, male, farmer, born in Germany; Rena Winter, age 7, female, born in Missouri; Caroline Winter, age 6, female, born in Missouri; Eliza Winter, age 2, female, born in Missouri.

In the 1850 U.S. census, an Otto Go[o?]towold, age 9, born in Missouri was found living in the household of 22 year old Caroline Winter in Warren County, Missouri.
In the 1860 U.S. census for Wapello Township, Louisa County, Iowa, Otto Grodawold, age 21, born on Atlantic Ocean and Lewis Grodawold, age 19, born in Missouri were still living in the household of Fredrick Winter (curiously recorded as age 22). Wilhelmine Grodewohl from the 1856 state census was no longer present.
