The account reports that the parents were married in Warren County, Missouri and in 1884 they moved to a farm near Mayview, Lafayette County, Missouri. This would suggest that Gottlieb's birth took place in Warren County.

Account: "C. A. Begemann Family" submitted by Clara Werning. C. A. (Karl August) Begemann "married Wilhelmine Wehking, born November 14, 1859, on August 29, 1878...." C. A. (Karl August) and Wilhelmine (Wehking) Begemann had 10 children. One of their daughters died in infancy.
This account also reported that the parents and nine children emigrated from Germany in 1861 and that one child died during the voyage and was buried at sea. This would indicate that only eight children immigrated to the USA.

Karl August Begemann and Wilhelmine Wehking were married on 29 August 1878. Karl August Begemann and Johann Dietrich Begemann were brothers who married sisters, Wilhelmine Wehking and Caroline Wehking.
