Hancock Signal; Garner, Iowa. July 28, 1897. Republishing a notice from the Dubuque Times. "Mr. Charles Fiegenbaum, teller at the Second National Bank of Dubuque and Miss Pauline Nehls of Platteville, Wisconsin were married at that place Thursday evening at the residence of the bride's parents." Transcription provided by Gretchen (Klein) Leenerts. Gretchen has interpreted the date of the wedding to be 25 July 1897. I believe this in incorrect. July 28 is a Wednesday. If the wedding took place on a Thursday evening, as reported, it would have to have been the previous Thursday, 22 July 1897.
